My little bit of this big World

Wednesday, 4 August 2021

August already

I had this bunting made for baby Molly, very simple, not too big, I'm loving all the pink. The lady is on Instagram, I have followed her for a while, soon I will have another sewing task for her, my machine does not do embroidery.
I have finished this cot blanket for Molly, the simplist of designs made to look stunning by the colours. Will still loves his blanket and George always uses his on cooler nights. Made in 100% cotton so no fluff, no more grandchildren, so this is the last one made.

Our first female family shopping trip, with youngest daughter and grand daughter, lots of floral outfits, shades of pink and yellow, and new T shirts for both Will and George. The rain stopped, we enjoyed a lunch at John Lewis at Southampton, not a cheap day but loads of fun.
When I sorted my wardrobe, I got rid a a few cardigans, I do like to wear one on a cooler day, we popped to M&S and these caught my eye. Perfect replacement, the stars design is so soft, it's a case of get them when I see them. I also found a lovely pair of slip on sandals, will eventually replace my scruffy pair.
I have really done nothing, the garden is looking good, the house is clean, I'm not reading or crafting, I've been a bit off colour and don't know what to do with myself, the bloody rain does not help. Too much time at home, bored and no energy.

It was fun to have my brother visiting, he met baby Molly, Will was so happy to see him, we went to an out of town shopping center and on another day we walked to the castle along the shore line. He does slot in well with hubby and I, I made a paella on Saturday evening, it's his favourite dish.

I did say I was not keen on th Olympics this summer in Japan, feeling that they should have not taken place, we have been watching, it's very hard not to watch so many doing so well, Declan Brooks who won bronze in the BMX freestyle lives in our village, so with so many flags and banners, it's hard to ignore, he arrived back in our village yesterday, loads of people came out on the streets to welcome him home.

Monday was fun shopping with daughter, Southampton was not too busy, lunch was fun, simple normal things. Tuesday was a day at home, spent an hour in the garden, dead heading and tidying the plot, no watering required, did manage to sit in our garden for an hour.
Today is market day so a walk to the village, we require nothing, just nice to get out, daughter is due for a visit with Will, George and Molly, so loads of play time. Probably a coffee out, Will loves our local Bistro, he always has their teacakes, all the staff love children, so it about time they met Molly.

  1. It will be such a change for you buying and making girly things after having all boys in the family. We've had a day of rain that's all, we're forecast rain over the next week so we'll see if that materialises as the rain they forecast before never arrived. I'm sorry you're feeling a little off colour, I hope you feel better soon.
