More patterns

Just a quick chat tonight, I wanted to show you my next project,
I love patchwork, but made in cross stitch, and found the most wonderful cushion cover above here I love just everything about this, and can't wait to get it, I am off after this to place my order for the kit. When it is made I am going to place it on our spare bed, I did think I might do a second in yellow, which would pick out the colours of the room.

As for my Spanish sampler, I have finished the 1 extra panel and I am pleased with it, I already know what it will look like once it's finished, by playing on Photo Suite. In my next blog I will have a pic of it.

Well I'm off now to stitch, Kev is out for the evening so it's just me and the cat's. It is dark and raining here again, we have been for our walk tonight, and I can't see my garden, which is a mess.

We are planning to use our 4 days off at Easter to sort out the garden, we are both determined to get on with things and get it all finished. We are waiting for the guy to give us a date when he will come and re plaster the sitting/dining room and hall. We will then have a new floor laid and other than painting all will be done.

In this house we are going for a record of how quick we can get it done.

My final wish is for a sunny day so we can go off on the bike together, but it needs to be a bit warmer as well.

Colour everywhere

We have been in for 4 months, and have been very busy.

Here you can see our new kitchen, even though it is half the size of our old kitchen, I am very pleased with the finished look, very light and with clean lines, the old kitchen was so bad, we had to renew this one as soon as possible.

The down stairs bathroom just had a toilet and basin in, so it was always planned we would have to re do here, I love the tile top edging, it's very art deco, the bungalow was built in 1930's so it's a bit of the right era inside.

The spare bed room needs the curtains to be made, which I will do by the weekend, it's not the greatest of picture's, but it does show the colours, I am going to make two cushions for the bed, both will be a cross stitch patchwork, I will buy the kit in red, as it is sold and then make a second with yellow, both for the bed. The room as loads of African items, from holidays, with my Lion and my Tiger ( I do know he should not be here).

Last autumn I showed my Spanish sampler finished, well I have not done much stitching since we moved in. I have not been able to find a project to get started, I wanted to make my sampler into a cushion, but it was not big enough.
So I decided to make my sampler much bigger. I used photo suite on my computer to create what my sampler could look like.
I took the picture I had of the sampler and cropped it to one panel size, which I then saved, after I had made each panel as an individual smaller picture and then I placed them on the sampler picture until I found a combination I liked, below is my work in progress, I will add one extra panel each side and the a small edging.

I will keep you upto date with my progress, it's great fun to be doing more with it.

Happy New Year

Well after 14 weeks we are back on the internet, my only comments will be, "How can SKY with all it's people and resources lose us in their systems for 12 weeks and leave us without internet"
all I know is they did and were very unhelpful.

Well since I last did my blog, I have had a birthday and a wonderful trip with Kev, Christmas, New Year.

We have the most amazing Kitchen and Bathroom, but before each our sitting room was the store for all the new items. Now in our sitting room we have the spare bedroom, all piled in a corner, whilst we decorate, pic's will follow.

We are planning a wedding as our middle daughter has booked a service in August, I hope in my next blog to have pic's of the most perfect church in the grounds of a castle, which happens to be our local church.

Fliss and Josh are great fun, Fliss is now my part time help at work, and I love having her in the office.

I have been following all your blogs in work, so I'm glad to be able to corresponde with you all again.
