Friday I spent the day with a Friend, we normally meet in town, but because she retired on the same day as me, we decided with the extra time we would do something different, I drove to her house. It was very dull on my journey, I stopped to capture the 1st photo, so grey and dull.
We both went for a walk around Stokes Bay, I have not been into the village before,  it is full of naval history, as is most places in this area. The crescent was not as grand as at Bath, but it did look good, with a beautiful park on the other side of the road. Next onto the tidal boating lake, the tide was on it's way in, in the summer it gets very busy.
We walked back to her house which backs onto the waterfront, it was nice to sit on the sea wall in the sunshine watching all the boats and a couple of fishermen. This is just around the corner from Gosport, and across the water from Portsmouth. You can see the Spinnaker Tower in a couple of my photo's.
The wind was blowing as we walked along the coast, but it still felt warm, which is surprising after the rain and wind we had through out early Friday morning.
This morning we have storm Brian, loads of heavy rain showers and very windy, we have planned to do nothing, we will walk to the village, it's just 5 minutes, but the rest of the time we will stay at home, where we are warm and dry.
Our garden is looking very good, we are pleased we cut back our magnolia tree, it is still full of it's huge leaves. A couple of our neighbours trees have been whipped around in the wind, but everything is still standing.

  1. It looks like a lovely day out. Stay safe in Storm Brian, it's not forecast to come our way so I hope they've got that right.

  2. We had rain in the night and winds from the south right onto the back of the house which kept me awake.

  3. Ah, you're not so far from me. Very wise to stay warm and dry indoors today. Wet and windy here.

  4. Ah, I'm glad it brightened up for you on your day out. Lovely cheerful pictures! I don't blame you at all for not wanting to go out today... it doesn't seem like the weather could make its mind up what to do... there seem to have been loads of days like that recently though!
