Summer blooms

I have just added some buttercups to this flower bed, along with the violets and primroses there is a very natural under planting. Soon the rhubarb in the middle will grow huge, we are looking forward to pulling some this spring. I dug the buttercups from a friend's plot, I love their tiny yellow flowers.

I don't need these three lovely frames for my raspberries this year, so they are in this square bed for height, as yet I don't have anything to grow up them, hoping foxgloves will look good growing through them.
We popped to my favourite garden centre where their plants are always in a very good condition, the poppy and two foxgloves are for the garden above, the ranunculus are just for instant colour, the smaller plants are for around my pond, the two grasses are hubby's for his front garden.
Both Molly and George had the bugs, they both missed world book day at school and nursey, daughter kept them home for the rest of the week, they went through their dressing up box, trying on loads of outfits, daughter was able to pack the smaller ones to be passed on. They both love dressing up, loads of the costumes were purchased for Will, so they have lasted well.

Thursday was a day in the garden, I swapped a dark red hellebore with a white one, the dark flowers didn't stand out and be seen at the back of the garden, I separated some root from the darker plant, it would be lovely to have a second plant. I also replanted more baby carrots into my raised bed, in hope they will grow bigger.

Friday was dull and cloudy, we were promised rain, but only had the tiny amount, I think I am going to have to water my pots over the weekend.

We had lazy days at home, I did the school run, mornings and afternoons, daughters house and the schools are on the other side of our local town, so it does take a chunk of time, we can't see daughter struggle with the little ones, her mother in law lives further away. I do love chats with Will in the car on the way back from school, he always tells me about his day.

I'm not feeling so great, probably the little ones bugs, nothing too bad so I will relax over the weekend, read and do some cross stitch.

  1. I think wild flowers look good with cultivated plants. Even daisies in lawns make me happy.

  7. Sorry you've all been catching bugs. It's so nice to be able to get out in the garden at the moment. I'm loving it.
