Same old me, same old hubby and same old house, just the way we like it. We stayed in on new year's eve, its been years since we went out, we both love a quiet evening in. I stayed up later to ensure Lilly was OK with the local fireworks, TV was not too bad, we ordered a pizza and had a bottle of fizz.
The decorations are packed away in their boxes, in the attic, I managed them on my own, which was not the struggle I expected. I have left some lights out and have been lighting candles, just to keep the cosy feel, it does not feel so bare this year.
2025 decided to crash out, on 31st our air-fryer kept cutting out and our shower suddenly stopped using any cold water and was far too hot for comfort, so a new air-fryer has been purchased and our plumber is booked, not the start we expected.
I have already been sorting, my office/craft space is my focus this year, I have cleared a drawer, so I can keep my needle felting stuff close by, I want to make more things this year, hopefully get on a couple more day courses. I do need to clear my crafting trolley it's become a dumping ground, it won't take long.
I did get some Christmas cards and gift bags in the sale from our local card shop, all less than half price, they are packed away in my pre December box, with all the other useful stuff, it's the only thing we got in the sales, we did pop to town, but just for a wonder to get out of the house.

That all sounds very satisfying. My very best wishes to you all for 2026!
ReplyDeleteI thought exactly that when I woke up this morning, same old me, but that's fine. We stayed in too and watched a film on Paramount which was good. Then I watched Pretty Woman, it's years since I've seen that film, but still enjoyed it. Good luck working on your craft room this year.
ReplyDeleteWe had the evening in and it was very pleasureable - I will be noting this down as something that worked. Oh my craft room is a bombsite, I might close the door on it today.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will kep posting about your garden as I will definitely be reading and maybe even picking your brains for help with my garden this year - your garden is so lovely and better still you are always so on top of it...my failing, finding time at the right time.
Have a wonderful and happy New Year, once your recent hiccups are sorted!
Your garden always looks immaculate. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI took down and put away the last of the Christmas decorations today ... all in their boxes and in the cupboard ready for Christmas 2026 ... but before that I wish you a good New Year ahead.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
PS your garden does look very nice.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year. We stay home and to tell you the truth I am usually fast asleep before the new year arrived.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Our decorations will come down in the next day or two, I'm enjoying them for a while longer.
ReplyDeleteI do love hubby's planted boots in the garden.
Good plan to get some cards and bits in the half price sales ready for when they will be needed at the end of the year.
Have a good rest of the week.
Too much hot water -- that's an unusual problem. Usually it's the other way around! I've also left up our Christmas lights and I'm still burning a big candle. Cozy indeed.
ReplyDeleteI need to divide some of our primroses.
