National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire
Household Guards Memorial
Riding through the park
Just a few of the many bikes
This is the first time we have seen the bikes in the park, it just felt right, bikers are all ages, shapes and types, not all here are ex-military, but they all paid their £10.00 to attend. The two over-spill fields were full as well. It was also nice to meet my niece Sophie and new hubby Richie in the grounds. To see more of the arboretum see my previous post from 2013 or BBC news page, this one day per year raises huge sums of money for this wonderful place, it is normally free to enter and wander around, but if you want a peaceful day please avoid the first Saturday in October.
Needless to say I ache a bit now, over 3 hours ride home, but we stayed dry and warm, so a good positive
Glad you had a lovely visit, hope you have recovered from the journey.xx
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see so many bikers and all in aid of a good cause.
ReplyDeleteLong journeys can be tiring.....hope you have recovered now :)
What a great event. I think you need a good soak in the bath after that ride.
ReplyDeleteI couldnt do bike rides like that any more, it must have been a great atmosphere with all those bikers :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic, we have a bikers memorial ride here every year for a biker who died. This year over 1.600 bikes took part and raised nearly £5000 for charity. It makes me yearn for my biker days, but I don't think I would bounce so well if I came off these days.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good time. The photos are fabulous X I'm much too much of a scaredy cat to even think about getting on a motorbike!
ReplyDeleteThis is on DH's places to visit list. A wonderful way to raise much needed funds for such a good cause.
