No crafting spend as I've done very little crafting, it's gardening and reading time, just a few bits for the garden, mainly spring bulbs and flowers. I have not added the cost of water feature, it was hubby's purchase, I probably would have not bothered.
10 Books read this month.
Nothing in the house, just normal bills, I did spend whilst away with daughter and children, we have also been giving them more treats whilst they are on school holidays and helping out with uniform cost. It all mounts up, but I feel it's part of being grandparents, hoping these memories stay with them.
My stats here have gone crazy like so many others, I have no idea, it does not bother me, I can't see anything malicious it this, just another satiation where our modern digital world encroaches into our lives.
No food waste, we have a few bags of produce homegrown in the freezer, my second composter is almost full and working well, the only food waste which goes in our bin is onion peelings and the seeds from peppers. I always pop the rind of lemon and oranges along our shelf by the seating area outside, they do help to keep flies at bay.
I have again added a couple more pounds, I am more active than before, but the struggle is becoming harder as I age, I flip between got to knuckle down and at my age should I bother.
Good ideas with the onion and orange rinds to keep the flies away. There are have been hordes of them this year. Everytime I strim I get bit to death. The Doctor flies are the worst silently injecting their poison into my arms.
ReplyDeleteYou do very well with your reading.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this last weekend of August.
All the best Jan
Spending definitely goes up when you've got little ones around. I'm wondering how my energy bills will look this winter now that I have Jack three days each week, he'll definitely need the house to be warmer than we usually have it.
ReplyDeleteHeating is always on here when they visit, so our bill should reduce once they are all in school.
DeleteGrandparents are important in children's lives. They will remember your presence much more than your presents. Weight yo-yos and so long as you're not heavily over or underweight, there's little to worry about.
ReplyDeleteSadly my best weight passed me by a few years ago, I would describe myself as chunky now.
DeleteSorted my wardrobe at the weekend…loads of lovely things hanging…if only they’d stretch. Totally agree, it does get harder as we age…I used to be too skinny…several decades ago, admittedly I am a little picker.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the trying to lose and then wondering whether to bother. I really don't like counting calories these days, especially after a year doing it with a lot of discipline. School holidays always end up being a bit more expensive, but you are making memories, which is priceless.
