Lovely bags

These bags are in our shopping bag and will be used many times, ensuring we do not use the flimsy plastic bags for fruit and veg. They cost £15.99, and there are 3 sizes, 2 of each are net bags and the 3rd is a unbleached cotton. Hubby was getting fed up with fruit and veg loose in our shopping bag, as I refused to use the plastic bags provided, I do also carry paper bags to use as well. Sadly these bags were held together, yes you guessed in a plastic bag.

I had a totally different post ready, but changed my mind, I'm feeling blue, each morning I check my garden to see what damage has been done overnight, this morning was good, no digging.
Most of the seedlings coming through in my raised cut flower bed had been destroyed. None of the plants in my bed by the back door are damaged, so I managed to get the bed looking good again.
My happy place is my garden, I like it neat on the edges with loads of colour, I've been working on it for almost 10 years, it will never be finished, which is good as I love to be outside doing things.
I spoke to soon yesterday, mad cat woman has sent us a dodgy looking 'legal' letter, listing all the things she has imagined we have done, drugs was top of the list again. This means she has broken the order sent to her via the courts and our local council, the council has a copy of the letter, they are dealing with it, sadly nothing is done quickly.
So we carry on as normal, living our lives as best as we can, we are meeting Will and mummy for a picnic later, the D Day celebrations are happening in Portsmouth, we are going to sit at our local  water edge and watch the flypast, not the best view, but we have no desire to go into Portsmouth today.

  1. What a great idea those bags are, I'm sure they'll get loads of use. It must wear you out dealing with a neighbour like that, I don't know what the council will be able to do though, it sounds as though there's something wrong with her imagining things going on. Enjoy your day out.

    1. Council using anti social services, they best deal with cases like ours, the police struggle. But they have to follow strict guidelines, which sadly take time.

  2. Marlene, I'm so sorry for your troubles and do sympathise, we've had plenty of trouble from neighbours over the years, and rats as well. A couple of years ago a previous neighbour (moved away ages ago thank goodness) had a couple of dozen chickens and ferrets in his garden (a breach of tenant regs), which attracted rats by the dozen. Husband had to keep laying traps, he caught and killed 17, yes seventeen, rats in the space of a fortnight in our garden. We were so relieved when the tenant moved out, particularly as he also kept 4 dogs in kennels in his garden that he was planning to breed from.

I hope you can forget your troubles for a day and have a lovely time with Will and mummy. Thinking of you x

    1. I really hate the rats, but love the tiny field ice.

  3. Are they the Lakeland bags? I'm trying to eliminate the need for any single use plastic but am finding it harder than I anticipated.

    1. We got them off Amazon, I like them because the clasp is metal not plastic. It is very hard, plastic is everywhere.

  4. That's awful, crazy neighbour lady! I hope she calms down and gets a grip.
I was born in Porstmouth St Mary's hospital. As a child we lived in Hampshire - West Leigh, Leigh Park, Cowplain and purbook. Then after marrying - Southsea and 9 yrs in Purbrook before moving to Kent, Doncaster and now Lincolnshire. We still travel back to Hants to visit family.
The bags are a good idea, hoping you have a good week, Cathy x

  5. We've had 3 lots of dodgy neighbours next door to us. Now the landlord has sold the house, so hopefully we'll get decent neighbours this time! We have several small canvas bags for veg shopping. You can often pick up sturdy brown paper bags and canvas bags free ( one of our canvas ones is from Zoopla ) Have a lovely day out. Best, Jane :)

    1. The house is owned by her mother, which slows things down, if it was rented the council would be after the landlord.

Hope you enjoyed your picnic and were able to see a little of the flypast.

    All the best Jan
