My little bit of this big World

Big start

I have started my huge ripple blanket
If my calculations are correct I have everything I need
Here I go
Books read last week
I am loving the Roy Grace books
I am making the ripple blanket for our spare bed, it's a 3/4 queen size bed, it will be the biggest blanket I have made, I decided on ripples as it's easier to work out the wool required, I'm not good working out granny squares, plus the ripple will look nicer. I have no plan as to the placements of the colours, other than I want them all mixed up, I won't even make all the ripples with the same number of colour rows, on my last couple of cot blankets each colour was two rows deep.
I have done no sewing, not able to sit at my sewing machine with the issues with my back (sorry Sue, hope to finish your bag soon). I also find knitting my socks uncomfortable, so no progress with them.
I have spent loads of time reading, at the moment it's good to lose myself in books, our neighbour is still causing issues, family is requiring our time, I feel as I need a holiday, no chance for a while.

  1. I think the worst bit of crocheting a blanket is the first row where you crochet into the foundation chain so now you've got that done it's all plain sailing. Sorry to hear that you're still suffering with your back, I hope you get some relief soon.

  2. Does sound like you've had a time of it but I don't think the Doctor could prescribe anything better than a good book or three and a little light crocheting to aid recover.

  3. I agree with Jo, that first chain row is the worst part of a blanket, your colours look very pretty.
Hope you feel better soon x

  4. Lovely blanket colours, I do like ripples, have only recently got into them. Don't worry about the bag Marlene, no rush, I fully understand. Just get yourself better.

  5. Good luck with the ripple blanket. I find they are so satisfying to do. I, too, like the Peter James books. There was only one that I didn't like because it was too graphic.

  8. Your ripple blanket will be so pretty. There is nothing like reading to take you to new places and help escape if you need that.
