About time

Carrie Rose is in the frame
 And it's growing,
I have decided to do the centre panel first
Once this area is finished I will stitch the left hand side
Welcome another leaf on Orange pip
looking very strong
We have started on the table
here with the first top coat
Chair on left with first coat of white
on right with primer coat
I require another two cans,
making this much more expensive than I first thought
but they are looking good.
It's been a busy time, I have not done too much in the garden, the weather is a bit cool and now we have rain in our fore caste, good for the lawn it could do with another good soaking. I did manage to dig up some more plants and pass on, giving me some room in the front of my garden, I have seedling growing into nice plants, they won't be ready for another few weeks.
We should just miss the frost promised for tonight, typical of May, trick you into thinking lets plant and then it send you another cold spell.
We had a nice trip out on the bike on Sunday, not for too long, it was still a bit cool. This Sunday it is the ride of respect, Bikers all ride through Royal Wotton Bassett, hubby has done the ride many times, but it will be the first time for me, so we are watching the weather.
Work is still very busy, I am starting each day a bit earlier, we can store flexi time and then have time off, I am storing time for a Friday afternoon, hopefully soon we can book a weekend away. I am going to work Saturday morning as well as overtime, somehow we have got to catch up.
Not much else happening here, I love a quiet life, but with Chelsea Flower show starting on Sunday, loads of lush TV to look forward to.

Sunny Sunday

I did house work yesterday
one task was to put my posh hat back in the drawer under my bed
I don't use this drawer much, the bedside table stops me from opening it.
Inside I saw a box given to me from my mum after my dad passed away back in 1986
 Inside was his driving licence
13 pages from 1949 to 1968
to start with each year and then every 3 years,
those days you had to reapply for your licence
The annual licence cost 5 shillings (25p)
the 3 year licence cost 15 shillings (75p)
Each year he signed the licence and stuck the page in the booklet,
It is falling to bits, but I love it.
Dad was a lorry driver, a working man
so for me, this is part of him.
I have tucked it back in the drawer, nice and safe
I am trying something new, Kiwi seeds, the fruit was not very ripe, so I'm not sure about the seeds, I have them on wet kitchen paper, kept on the warm sunny window sill. I will keep you informed.
Work this morning was good, because no other department was in and the phones turned off, we ploughed into the backlog and made a good headway, by tomorrow it will just as bad, there are three people out of 8 away (1 sick,1 holiday &1 seconded to another department). Well I have done my bit. Hubby was a great help and cleaned bathrooms, so later we are going out on the bike.
This evening, I have a few more plants to dig out and pass them to Chris across the road, Win has a few plants for me, but they are not ready, she has too many stocks, not some thing I would normally grow.

Pink and green

Lovely pink balls of pleasure
and protected from the wind
My Hosta is doing very well
the best it's been in years
 Orange pip
I love the dark green shiny leaves
 More books to read
I have seen the film Gone Girl and my daughter recomended I read the book
These were just £5 from the book people
 These popped into my basket
£5 for both, I love the old flower sketches
Sam and Logan have postcards to colour
I have not done much, I finished reading Perfect, which was often a chore, I won't search the author out again. I have started reading Sharp Objects as shown above, it's looks a good read. I pass books on to both my daughters to read and friends, then they go to the Charity shop.
The next section of Carrie Rose is released tomorrow, so I will have some stitching to do. I have spent time planning my next project, which will be alot of stitching, I have two designs in mind, I would like to use both, not sure it will work so loads of sketches before stitching. I am stitching patchwork, which will always be my first love.
Daughter is back home after her holiday, they both looked relaxed and happy.
It is another windy day here, not as bad as in the week and it keeps trying to rain. Hubby has cut our new lawn for the first time, it does look good, I will not have any time for outside today, I need to get housework done, the place is not looking so good.
Our trip out to Ludworth Cove with Photography club was cancelled, the weather and light not being kind enough.
Tomorrow I am working until 2pm, not something I want to do, but our department is behind and the only way we can catch up is extra days. Not everyone is working, but I think if I show I am happy to help out, it might lead to another role before the contract is up.

Can't think of a title.

The wind has dropped
the past couple of days have been more like October than May
I have checked the garden and almost every thing is OK
My Jasmine on the back fence took a battering
but I have hooked it back up
 Peony, more flowers
this spot has been sheltered from the wind.
 Seedlings in  my chimney
these are blue flowers
 For a friends birthday
she loves her garden
the topper I have had for ages.
No stitching, I am challenging myself to read on novel per month
A new author to me, not sure if I would read her again
this is looking a different types of depression
I have found some of it hard going
James Wong, just to help me produce as best I can in my small plot.
Today in UK we are voting for the next government, the polls suggest the main two parties are very close, we will have to wait and see the outcome. I will be glad when everything goes back to the new normal. Here is not the place to air any political opinions, suffice to say, some will be happy and others disappointed, it's going to be hard who every takes their place at 10 Downing Street. I just hope they keep their promises, none of them have done so in the past.
It has been a very interesting time for me, I had an email last week asking me to attend a meeting, on a different military base close to home, in which I have been offered another job, better paid, but not regular hours, some weeks full time and others weeks without work, I was considering it, I liked the idea of having some extra time off. Today at work, we were called to a meeting, our contract has been extended to the end of the year, and when other roles come up in different departments, we will be allowed to apply for them, they are wanting each of us to stay on into next year and beyond. Having had a chat with hubby, I have decided to stay where I am, I like the early starts and finishes, the ladies in the office are all nice and friendly. It was nice to be considered for the other role.
Tomorrow evening we are driving to Heathrow airport to pick up youngest daughter and her partner, home ward bound after their sunny break, lucky things.
The next section of Carrie Rose should be here soon, I am itching to get stitching it. I have also been formulating a plan for another huge design, I need colour in my stitching.
