Walled gardens Cannington

Logan and Finn, in pub play area.

We are back home after a long weekend away, back to my home village in Somerset, we stayed with my brother Martin, caught up with our grandsons in Taunton, had Sunday lunch with my brothers and sisters. We ate out most lunchtimes, so it was a restful time and plenty of chatter.
On Sunday afternoon, we visited The Walled gardens attached to Cannington college, this college was here from 60's onward, we always had loads of students in our village, all through the year. About 10 years ago they opened the gardens, but I had never visited, we spent almost 2 hours walking around, the gardens are in between seasons, and did not look their best, but it was still interesting. They have huge glasshouses, which I loved, loads of Cati's in one, aquaponics in another, a hot house and a house for propagation.
They had loads of plants for sale, but I passed on them all, I just don't have space in the garden. I have made a couple of purchases, will show them next time.

  1. I love looking round gardens but try hard not to buy anything. Much will have been bred there or grown from their own seed and is acclimatized to the conditions. These plants do not like to travel far as I have found to my cost over the years. The photo,s are lovely and perhaps I may have a return trip to one of our local gardens soon.

  2. Look at those cheeky faces, they look full of fun. Glad you had a good weekend, it's nice to catch up with family and make a little break of it.

  3. We love the Walled Gardens, the little tearoom is really nice and very reasonable too. We'll have to arrange to meet up in there for a coffee and cake!

  4. It looks like you had a lovely time catching up with family. Have a good week, Cathy x

  5. So glad you had a nice time. Your grandsons are adorable!

  6. What a nice trip you had. We will be visiting our grand children in a few weeks. For us it includes a 5 hour plane trip. Thanks for sharing the pretty garden photos!

  7. Lovely photograph of your grandsons … and what beautiful blue skies too.

    All the best Jan

  8. Lovely smiles for the camera, I bet they were pleased to get a nanna {hug} x

  9. The boys have gotten SO BIG ! ! ! ! !
