How many socks

These are finished
This photo shows the colours better,
and I love the heather shades, another German Opal yarn.
These are not for me, I gave this had dyed yarn to my sign class tutor for Christmas, she tried knitting a pair of socks on a pratice yarn and was not happy with the work, so I am knitting them for her.
This yarn should be called spring, the colours are perfect for this time of year, and Shelia loves yellow, so perfect for her.
I should not be knitting another pair of socks, I have the sleeves of my jumper to finish, but I am enjoying having small knits to do with no sewing together, I now know this pattern and do not need to refer to the instructions, another plus for knitting it.
I have made 8 pairs of socks, 5 for me, 1 for my daughter and 2 for hubby, it's fair to say I'm addicted to knitting socks.
We had fun with Will on Monday, spent some time wrapped up warm in the garden, the blue skies and sunshine did not have any heat, the winds kept it cold. Will does love to be outside, so I was able to tidy everywhere. He was in such a happy mood a pure pleasure to be with him.

The winds overnight has broken the 1st panel in the fence, the 2nd will break soon, we are looking for a solution to have just inside of our boundary, I would like a brick wall. I am sat here with the radio on, working at my computer, I can hear the daughter (mad cat woman) shouting at her elderly mother, it happens often through the day, I have given my concerns to our local council, but still these neighbours impact on my daily life. If we get lucky the daughter will catch the bus into town and both the mother and I can have a quiet time. Sorry every now and then the situation gets me down, I am looking forward to the rest of the week away from home.

We are preparing for our trip to Liverpool, we are both looking forward to discovering this city, neither of us have visited before, so later today we will be checking on what to see. If you have any ideas please let me know them, we are in the city for 2 whole days, time enough to have fun

  1. I've lost count how many pairs of socks I've knit but I never tire of them. I've finished knitting my latest pair and I'm back to my cardigan so I'm not allowing myself to cast on another pair until I've got a bit further on with that or else it'll never get finished. It must be awful to have neighbours that you don't get on with, we've lived in two houses and the neighbours have been great in both. Enjoy your weekend away. I'm afraid I can't suggest any ideas as I've never been to Liverpool, though it's somewhere I'd like to visit one day.

  3. I visited Liverpool for the first time last summer. It’s s fabulous place and I’ll be going back again. Good value was the tour bus ride which takes you all around the city and allowed me to see much more than I otherwise would have. If you have transport then a trip to Formby beach to see Antony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ art installation is worth a visit. I went to see the Terracotta Warriors exhibition at the World Museum but on my next trip will visit one of the pop music exhibitions near Albert Docks. I hope you have a lovely time whatever you do.

  4. No help for Liverpool here either, I've never been, sorry.
Sock knitting is very therapeutic, it just happens whilst you watch the world go by and let your brain rest.
Shame you have to endure neighbour troubles

  5. I am getting all my sock needles empty and ready for Winwick Mum,s yarn to be released by the WYS. Then I will be as happy as Larry. Whoever he was.

  6. I have my first sock still on the needles in bag and hope at some point I'll get the nerve to try again. I just can't get used to using the 4 needles! How stressful to live next to neighbors like that!

  7. You will love Liverpool I'm sure but it is a while since I went so won't give any advice on places. I am sure you will find plenty on Google and in Liverpool itself.
The heather shades of your socks are really lovely.
