In my hands

Another new author for me, picked from my Kindle, it's a slow book, what do you do when you partner disappears, the story is the following year, it's a story of very different feelings. I enjoyed the story, finding out bit by bit the events prior, and a surprising ending. Book 28 read this year.
This author writes the type of book I love, this one is different, the wife is married to a rich good looking man, that in it's self would normally put me off, but I kept reading. A great plot, you think you know them, not their secrets, once you find them out everything is different. book 29 read this year.
Another different plot, some people never forget or forgive, they change their lives to gain revenge, a good plot, for a while confusing, I do like how she ends most of her books, often people get away with things, even murder. Book 30 read this year.

I've not done more on my sewing, even with my daylight lamp I am struggling and making too many mistakes, I think it's time for me to stop using the very fine linens, I will never stop sewing, but my days of completing the tiny stitches are ending. It's sad, I knew it was coming, I have different project in mind, just waiting for supplies to arrive.

Tuesday we took a trip to a newly opened garden centre, our nearest Dobbies closed in January, it's now a British Garden Centre, they are using the whole space for plants and have a huge selection and loads of vegetable plug plants, I only purchased two yellow lupins, small plants I will grow on. We looked for recliners, but they only had seating sets. As much as we loved the new look, we won't regularly go there, we have good places closer to home.

Wednesday I dug out my garden waste composter, so much beautiful homemade compost, ready for my seed potatoes, I will still need a couple more bags of compost, there is no point in having a second composter, as I don't have enough garden waste.

  1. It's rare I visit I visit garden centres because I find them expensive. When I do visit them I choose a perennial I haven't got and bring it home and divide it with a knife and get two plants out of it.

    1. I always look to separate plants where I can.

  2. Yes. I also buy plants in bud rather than in flower. So they flower longer.

  3. Thanks for the book reviews. I see I am going to have to add even more reading to my list. I don't have a kindle but I do have a Kobo so will need to see if I can get these.

    God bless.

  4. I do enjoy visiting garden centres and fortunately there are quite a few not too far away.

  5. Visiting a garden centre on a sunny day is always a pleasure, but tempting!

  6. I think our hot bin is full and needs emptying sometime soon. We have to drive a good 30 minutes to get to a decent garden centre in a different part of London, but if we do there are 5 or 6 in a row down one road, which is great for choice. We haven't actually been for over a year though.

    1. It would save me loads of money if we stayed away from them. There is always a plant I/we love.
