March is Downs Syndrome awareness month, daughter always takes part, I enjoy this walk around a local out of town shopping centre on Saturday, I have posted photos before. George loved the Star Wars guys, Molly mixes well but doesn't like the characters, Will catches up with friends he only gets to see on these meetings, it's also good to catch up with other families. It's a good fundraiser for the local charity, who has given George so much support.
These guys come every year and love the interaction with everyone, dads as well as the children, I watched them do a few arrest poses with dads for nice photo's.
Hubby gave the bench a coat of varnish and popped it out, it looks good, it's decades old, the garden is heading towards being ready for summer, soon the table and chairs will appear. This side view is perfect, all my bulbs along the shelf, my olive tree looking so good, I can't wait to see what flowers come back in this bed.
I saw this image recently brought back so many childhood memories, 3d or if we were lucky 6d was given to us, not weekly, we did not have pocket money. I don't remember seeing a farthing in circulation, I still have ten silver 6d coins, I can't remember why I saved them.
Thank for your comments regarding my older brother, it is a sad situation, I won't go and visit, he does not remember me and gets easily agitated, he does not remember Martin who has visited him every week for the past few years, Martin still visits once a week and keeps me updated.
Daughter and her three popped round to see us on Sunday for a few hours, we spent the whole time outside, it was really sunny and warm, not as warm as the previous week, the children ran around and had loads of fun. I spent time sorting my section of the garage, I can get to it now the bench is moved.
Family is so important, I grew up in a happy home, my mum with 9 children had very little time for cuddles, but we were cared for and loved, mum passed when I was 50, she was 82, we were still very close. I support my youngest daughter as much as I can, children and grandchildren are life's pleasures. I do have an older daughter, sadly at this time we are not close, a sadness I carry with me.
There is often sadness in many families but you have such joy in yours as well.
ReplyDeleteYour garden corner looks quite lovely.
George looks so happy in front of Darth Vader.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful garden, ours is very much still in the making as we are in a 2 year old new build, but we've only lived here since October. Our son estranged his family from ours, haven't spoken for over 15 years BUT we have a lovely daughter, partner and granddaughter. It hurts but you learn to live with it. Xx
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! George is a brave boy. You wouldn't get me standing anywhere near Darth Vader.
ReplyDeleteSadly, family life isn't straightforward for many. Relationships can be hard to understand sometimes. Xx
George looks like he had great fun. I have a tin of old coins and some from war time Germany , they were my uncles. That's sad about your other daughter, life is too short and I hope you can find a way back to each other.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely photograph of George standing in front of Darth Vader, he looks so happy.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
