Growing and shrinking

I am getting on with this, it's really quick to grow and the colours in the yarn do all the work. The blue colour-way has slightly less yarn, as I had used some on my loom. I will use the green again after another row of black.
All nice and neat,
the 4ply makes this a really light blanket,
it drapes lovely.
All 3 colours together.

My title is a bit misleading, the blanket is growing but I've not shrunk much at all in the past few weeks, having visitors and a BBQ, plus hubby's birthday has had me eating richer foods and a possibility of a few glasses of red wine, so as they say the scales don't lie, and my weight went a couple of pounds the wrong way. Having said that, I do feel so much better and I do feel slimmer.

Just the best video ever,
George watching himself in the TV unit glass,
I can't watch it often enough.

Double trouble

Monday we had both boys for the day, mummy was busy sorting furniture in her house, it was a very different day, Will is a really good big brother and loves George. We both had wonderful cuddles from George, he is just beginning to smile. Will loved his first go on the racing track and was quick to understand it's better not to go too fast and crash. It was wet and cold all day so we did not go out at all.
Mummy stayed for tea, but then took the boys home, it was very quiet here in the evening, but a really enjoyable day.
Tuesday I met the ladies from sign class for a coffee, again we went to one house, and enjoyed time chatting together. We are meeting again to sign a couple of songs, a display is required at the end of February in Fareham Library. Later was an afternoon and evening at home, I am doing well with my knitting, I will show you next time.
My yarn arrived, I am so pleased with the cost of each ball, they were £3.50 each 50 grms, the 100grm balls cost me £7.99, so a saving, I went back to the site and found they had reduced each ball to £2.49. Not wanting to miss a bargain, I purchased 13 balls, and with a 15% discount for 1st order, I paid £27.07, making the cost of each ball £2.08, I got free shipping for an order over £25, pleased is an under statement. I will use the yarn with the yarn below, left over from other socks,  and make loads of striped pairs of socks for Christmas presents, I have has loads of request for my socks from family and friends.
This is the yarn, it is great to knit with and washes very well. This is not a sponsored post, just my views on what I feel is a good product. I know I should be buying British yarns, and I do, but this is just so good for socks.

Books

This came yesterday
 Along with book 7
 Pure pleasure
When you import as a photo, the video does not play
My neighbour across the road, Chris has hearing problems, she is very good at lip reading and unless you are told you would not notice. For the past year she has been learning to sign, something I would love to do, so I got this book, with the hope of joining her class in the new year. If I can't get into the classes I will teach myself.
My blog book for 2016 came, the task of importing by hand was not as bad as I feared, once I had established a system, it all became much quicker. Purchased on Black Friday with a 50% discount, with postage I paid just under £40.00,  I can still use better quality pages and finishes and pay much less.
Our friends came over yesterday after school with their children, Jack 2 and Maddie 5, they came to see our decorations, poor mum could not relax, as most of the decorations on our tree are glass, so I ensure both children checked everything on our tree, their faces were full of wonder, it was a lovely moment. Santa on the motorbike was a huge hit, as was another Santa I have who sings and wobbles about.
Later we went to our village for the switching on of the lights, local schools sang for us, it was very cold but really enjoyable. Our main street is only small (we are close to Cities,
Portsmouth and Southampton), and the locals have to raise the monies themselves for any festive.

In the French Forest

This is the tall tree from which we did our zip wire over the lake
It's an adventure in the tree's, much like Go Ape, here in UK.
Every where you look up, there are platforms
Each platform leads to another test of your skills
 There were 5 levels
 This bit was really hard.
We did two levels, the next two were beyond me.
I am keeping every thing crossed this video will play, the best bit zip wire across the lake, then two challenges and the shorter zip wire back.
One of my friends says I am a bit of a dare devil, well, I will hang my boots up for now.
Yesterday was alot of driving, but nice to see hubby's family.
Today both daughters popped in, we sat in the sunshine drinking tea and chatting. I have done all my housework, the garden is looking good. Soon I will go for a shower and then watch some TV. No stitching again today, I am tired, might even get a glass of wine.
Hope you have had fun, and avoided most of the heavy showers.

Grumpy

Grumpy is a fantastic word, it's how I feel today, and have felt like it for most of the day. I normally don't do Grumpy, can't say where is came from.
With a bit of luck it will be gone by the morning.
I love hubby's mug, and the coleus,
it's perfect for the big out side table.
 European Cushion
The placing of these colours is totally down to my choice, the blue centers are a third choice, I did them in yellow and then green, neither showed up well, so now they are all blue. I will use blue in the next pattern row and then green in the 4th section, I decided against mustard, it's not a colour for me.
It's the 70 years anniversary of D Day in UK, and loads of things have been happening at Portsmouth, most we just hear from our office, when the boats left to sail across the channel, all we could hear were the horns, loads of them, sounded really good. We did get to see The Red Arrows, not everything, but enough to feel we had seen a show.
Did not meet up with daughters tonight, Fliss is unwell and after taking hubby to SpeckSavers, he had drops in his eyes which blurred his vision, I stayed home to ensure he was OK. It's a shame cos I do love our girly, coffee and chat evening.
I have been to check on my garden, everything is doing well, it is so pleasing to pop out and look at plants growing after a day in the office, does that make me sound strange?
This weekend we are going to Free cycle my old tables and the tool store, it will be nice to have the extra space sorted before we go away.
That's it, my sewing is calling.

Cravendale - Cats with Thumbs

Please, please watch this

Ade Edmondson does "The Dying Swan" - Let's Dance for Comic Relief 2011 ...

This is another good dance,
Ade tried very hard,
as for Rick, what can I say, it's just the way he is.

They have not done a routine like this for over 8 years and the first hit, met it's target and Ade had a nice bruise forming, all for fun!!

Russell Kane Does "Crazy In Love"

I love this, Russel Kane took part in Let's Dance for comic relief, on Saturday night, I thought this was so good I copied it here for you all to see. The aim of the programme is for the viewers to call in and vote for one of six acts on for the next 5 weeks, each call makes money for Comic Relief. Comic Relief is hosted every two years, and it a way for our comedians to help fundraise. Needless to say Russell won last Saturday night.
