Stay with me

Sweet flowers are out again, I stitched last night, completing the second to last flowers, after I have stitched the top bunch, I have just the header to finish. Next time I will show you it as a whole. Life is great when my stitching is on the go. I am looking forward to doing a small quicky for Halloween next.
My travelling penguin, is on the move again, you can see how Nicole of The Best of the Best, stitched him here.  He is now with Katie from Just a Little Stitching, I'm not sure where Katie is based,

My knitting is finished, Su just needs to pick it up, it's for her bed, I am pleased with the finish, here it's in Kev's big chair, I loved stitching cable, but with 120 stitches and 32"/ 82cm in length, it got very heavy. I love the back better than the front, the chunky buttons make it, I won't know until Su see's it finished, which she prefers.
The pattern I loved, The triple cable is very easy, stitched over 12 sts, 3 x 4sts, with a twist every 6 rows, each time taking the outer 4 stitches to the middle, bringing them to the front. The centre V is 20 sts, 1st row purl2, knit1,P14,K1,P2, on the next row you move the V a stitch closer to the centre, doing this by slipping the K stitch on a 3rd needle purl 1 and the knit the stitch on the 3rd needle, once the two knit stitches are together, on the next row you start again. Every 24 rows you should be at the start of the patterns. I did 7 stitches of moss stitch on each side and also at the top, where the buttons are placed.
These Cyclamens are on my desk, the white one is mine and sits on the sunny windowsill by my desk, the pink one is for a friend, she has moved just around the corner, so it's our 1st visit to her new house this asfternoon.
Grace is having her treats, she helps herself from the tub, she is not greedy, if I put the tub down for Purdy, she would eat most of them. Both cats have decided again they do not want to share their basket, so I have packed it away and got out the two smaller baskets, but they are sleeping all over the house.
It's a very lazy weekend here, hope to go out on our bikes soon, we do have  light rain here, but I hope it will stop soon. I saw Joshy on Friday, he went to his school disco, I babysat,  Sammy was asleep, I did check him, but he was fast asleep. After the disco Josh was showing me his dance moves, I got him some glow in the dark Moshi Monsters, so he was keen to go to bed to see how well they worked.
The most exciting thing so far is having my hair cut and booking my pre Chrismas colours. I was not as extreme as Paula, she had her pony tail cut off.

If you stayed to the end, thank you, hope you are having fun with your loved ones.

PS I'm looking for a book to read, any suggestions!

Sit down, long interesting post

We walked along the coast on Sunday, another hot sunny day, just a couple of photo's, it was glorious we had a great time, nice photo's and then home for a glass of wine in the garden. These are at Stokes bay, 30mins drive from our house, another pebble beach, The Solent so very busy loads of small craft.
Today back to work and back to dull weather.
My book has come, so loads of dancing around here, with 162 pages it's not a small read, but I decided to go for the hard cover with the best quality paper, and I'm glad I did. It feels like a real book, look here if you want to know more. It was not cheap, but I am so pleased.
Loads of work, transferring the blog to the book template was easy, the system did all of that, but then sorting each blog onto just 1 or 2 pages, I also wanted the photo's to be of different sizes, keeping it interesting. I must have spell checked it 2/3 times, just in case.
Just a few pages for you to see, the photo's came out so well, each page you can adjust by turning the page into a grid, with loads of squares, which helps you line things up. I did not want page numbers, each post has the date on.
I worked so the top of the pages were the same height, you will see the title for each blog is almost always at the same height. I chose the font I liked which looked a bit like hand writing, I ensure the leading edge of the photo's on each page was lined up, keeping it all straight and neat. Reading through I have noticed only two things I missed, each just a small thing. It was hard work, very time consuming, I checked the finished item twice before sending it to print, which took just over a week.

The front and back covers on each book  will all have the same words on, just different stitching photo's. 2009/2010 is ready, but I will wait awhile, see if they offer me another discount and 2012 is a work in progress.
In other news, Tribal penguin has been stitched again, if you would like a chance to be the next person to stitch it, please pop here and leave a comment, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, I want him to go around the world.

I also had a nice surprise in my e-mails today, I have won a giveaway, another heart, Hearts of Canada, it's a kit with DMC silks/floss and Kreinik braids. You know how I love my hearts, thank you Loretta

The next one is for you I have just to add the beads to my Christmas Ornament, so in my next post I will have that to give away, so watch this space.

Little fish

Firstly, we stayed up to watch the opening of the 2012 Olympics, which was fantastic, you can see more at the BBC News well worth a visit for the 6 minute video, I think the lighting of the torch by 7 up and coming athletes, and the torch itself was the best. But with James Bond and Mr Bean, our music,       it was all very British.
We are a proud nation this morning.
I am knitting little fish, I have done three so far and will make loads more, it's not what I brought the wool for, but it is fun and simple to knit. I have added an eye to one fish, the photo does not show it very well.
I was asked to take part in Seaside Yarnscape, which sounds loads of fun.
If you click on these photo's they should become large enough for you to read, on the above part of the form, they ask for fishes to be sent from all over the world, so grab some yarn and needles if you want to be part of some summer fun, I hope to visit the display once it's up, the closing date is 1st October.
Annette has finished Tribal Penguin, if you want to see her finished penguin or want a chance to stitch him, pop here and leave a comment, it will be great for  him to travel all over.

We are having a weekend at home, I have loads of house work to do, but with all the sport and the sun shine, I really am not in the mood to clean, not done much stitching this week, it's been a busy time.

I hope you have fun this weekend, it's full of laughter, family and sun shine.

Busy weekend

It's been busy at home this weekend, most of the time we had a house full, and Grancha loved being with our two youngest grandsons, Sammy and Logan, Sammy is 3 months older than Logan, but they played well together and shared Grancha. I got some time with Josh, who once again kept away from the camera. Shannon also popped in, Josh is now loving Lego Ninja's he had a sticker book and I was shown all the different people, they are either Lightening, Earth, Ice and Fire, I not sure about the last one.
We had a perfect weekend.
I did a a bit of stitching, not enough, but I hope to do a bit more later, I love these flowers, the next part I am totally going away from the design, I will use the same colours, but I will place them in different places, can't wait to get started.
Please don't forget Fliss, my daughter is having a give away here there is still time.

My Tribal Penguin looks as if he is going to Canada, Kathy names came out of the hat, I will send you an e-mail for your address, and post him to you, and as an added bonus, I have the threads for you as well.

Wow I'm up to 99 follower here, which is great, I feel another RAK coming on soon, watch this space.

Travelling Penguin and an early TUSAL

Not having my own mum around on Mothering Sunday, leads my mind to focus on my daughter and her hubby and two sons, they had lunch with us along with Su and her hubby Gav, Kev cooked a perfect meal, and we all had loads of fun together, what a perfect little family.

I have started Patchwork Sampler, but last night I frogged loads, just two stitches out caused loads of problems, best not to stitch when watching a good film, not sure why the fabric has yellow marks in this photo, I'm stitching on pure white.
 TUSAL
I won't be around on Wednesday, loads of colours, pinks, greens and oranges.
My pot is looking good already
I have had so many nice comments regarding Tribal Penguin, I want to send him on a journey, can we get him around the world, if you would like to stitch him and then pass him on, please leave a message on this post, he is very easy and quick, I will start a list on my side bar of where he goes, if I pull you name all you have to do is post about him when you have finished and send him on. I will watch and report on each stage of his journey, and see how he looks at each stage, I'm sure someone will stray from black and white. I will choose next week, normal thing names in a hat.
I am ready for hospital, so 7.30am I will be off, and not back until Friday, which means I shall have loads to read, and plenty of rest time to enjoy all your blogs.
See you soon.
