It's been a really cheap month, no craft and no garden spend, but a couple of house plants, I did spend £30 on a pair of cord trousers, not needed, but I know I will love them.
We were gifted a huge bag of cooking apples, most have been sliced and placed in our freezer, we sent some to our neighbour as thanks for more eggs, plus more fresh eggs, being away meant we had a much cheaper household month. I did have an eye test and new glasses ordered, I was expecting an upgrade, so the cost was not a huge surprise.
The cost of the trip, spending money and the family meal came from our savings, we had been putting a bit more away towards the week. I did very little shopping whilst away, so no surprise spends. Hubby received his £50 gift card for the local Co-op store, his old employer, very handy this time of year.
We have finished most of our Christmas spend, we have cut back on the treats, we should not need a big shop until January, we hate the crowds at this time of year. Any extra cost came from our savings, which we can replace with the lower spend next month.
The only black Friday deal I used was for printing my book, same as previous years 50% off.
Not going to say anything about my weight, I did have a good birthday treat, I am walking more.

It all sounds most satisfactory - a well-ordered life.
ReplyDeleteHaving grown up with very little, I have always kept myself aware of my cash flow, these days its just for my own curiosity.
DeleteI should probably keep better track of our expenses. Your spreadsheet puts me to shame!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved and spread sheet, so much information in one place, throughout my working life I have used them to back up figure's.
DeleteI got new glasses this month too. I only need them for close work so I just get a basic pair, and then the two for one deal means it's even better value. I always keep a pair in my bag so I don't forget them when I go out.
ReplyDeleteI now have to wear them all the time, do these are not basic.
DeleteI too have finished my Xmas shopping, save for some groceries I still need to buy and a bottle of wine for OH. Feels good to get it done. Well done on a low spend month.
ReplyDeleteI seem to be much better organised for Christmas this year than usual. Maybe hubby's retirement and being away on holiday for several weeks helped me get sorted. You seem to have everything well in hand with your preparations, Marlene.
ReplyDeleteNovember seems to have gone by very quickly.
ReplyDeleteI do have a few more presents to get but I'm not doing too badly :)
Have a happy new month of December.
All the best Jan
Finished making my gifts for Christmas. I just have to remember where I put the pajama bottoms for Harvey..... This happens a great deal when I put things away so he can't find them. The boys will get their gift baskets and a bit of cash to go with them.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
