From the top of Battersea chimney, the old power station is now a shopping complex and newly built up area, there is a glass lift inside one chimney, we were lucky only 6 people in our's loads of room to view London..

This is my final London post, I took so many photos, we made so many great memories, we planed our day to walk away from our hotel and then jumped on the underground to get back, its much easier now you don't have to purchase tickets, just tap your card at beginning and end of every journey.
We do love to walk everywhere, we again found lovely spots, things not always in any guide, different places to eat, our hotel has a brilliant restaurant, we did not use it preferring to find different places when out and about. Nothing beats turning a corner and finding a treasure, we stumbled on The Golden Hinde.

How lovely. What a treat.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to enjoy London and celebrate your birthday.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a belated happy birthday! It looks like you had a wonderful trip to London, you managed to cram in so many lovely things, I'm sure it's something you'll always remember. Goodness, you must have nerves of steel standing on that glass floor, you wouldn't catch me doing that, haha.
ReplyDeleteI only stood there for the photo, I did not walk on it, that's too much for me.
DeletePops (paternal grandad) came down from Scotland to work as an Engineer at Battersea Power Station and was a firewatcher there during WW11. What a fabulous birthday treat you had. Xx
ReplyDeleteI love this, another level of information. Did you know they used six million bricks to build it, who counted them?
DeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful time there. The views from the Power Station look amazing. Xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like an amazing journey. LOVED all your pictures, well....almost all. The picture of you on glass gave me the willies, had to avert my eyes less I get nauseated. Popped into your blog from a mutual blog friends blog. It's always fun to meet new bloggers.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your photographs.
