Introducing......

I've made 2 car seat ripple blankets, so did we need a red top or a blue top. 

Not being able to wait much longer, I popped into town and got a choice of baby card's, we can return which ever colour is not used. 

So today instead of having Will over on a sleepover, I drove to his house and played all afternoon with both Will and George, mummy went to maternity unit with daddy early afternoon, and just before teatime, baby was born, another natural birth, so welcome to baby Molly. 

 

Molly looks just like her eldest brother Will and arrived weighing 8lb 8oz,  a good size, so our 9th and final grandchild is a girl, after 8 boys, she is going to be so spoilt. 

Just as baby arrives, George decides its a good time to get mobile, plus climbing stairs quickly, he can now climb on furniture and is standing more, poor daughter, she is on the move all the time. It is wonderful to see the improvement in George, he has only a few words, but does make loads of sounds and is picking up Makaton very easily, Will is also learning to sign Makaton words. 

So a perfect weekend, both boys are happy, we had loads of laughter and cuddles on Friday. I'm a very happy Nanna.

I have finished this huge book and enjoyed every word, J K Rowling's does produce a great story, even if she writes under a different name, easy to follow, but with twists and dead ends. Hubby is going to read it next, after that I have a few friends asking to borrow it. Huge book over 1000 pages, this being my 29th book read this year, I am well behind last years reading. 

I have not read Career of Evil or Lethal White, hubby has got both books 2nd hand off Amazon, they should arrive in the next couple of days. I have loads of other books to read, but I think I will wait for these to arrive. I will be reading them out of order, but each book is a stand alone story, which does not refer back in any meaningful way. 

We had both Will and George on Tuesday as daughter had hospital appointment, daughter stayed for a while after, but was very tired, her due date was Monday. Sign language get together went well, I was happy to remember so many simple signs. 

Wednesday we had George for the morning, whilst Will had his swimming lesson, after we walked to village for lunch, Will chose to spend time with us, later hubby took him to a motorbike garage, they came back happy. Will starts school in September having time together will become harder, mummy did visit his school last week for the 1st time, only under an hour, but Will had 1 to 1 with his teacher and a tour of his section of the school, thanks to Covid 19, that's all they are allowed this year, he came back happy and excited, luckily he has a few friends in the same class.

Thursday it was just the 2 of us, so we decided to pop into town, then on to daughters, she had another midwife appointment, so we played with George, Will was at preschool. Town was very quiet, hardly any people, it was warm and uncomfortable wearing my mask, but I do feel happier seeing mask still being worn. Shopping has definitely lost much of the fun, we did stop for coffee in our favourite cafe, again it used to always be full often queueing for tables, but it was empty. 

Today hubby is away and not home until this evening, Will and I have planned a play day and sleepover, he wants to make pizza for tea and also bake some chocolate brownies. 

I am not doing any crafting, I have my cross stitch to make into cushions, but I'm not in the correct frame of mind, the anticipation of a new baby keeps my mind busy. There is always something to do in the garden and greenhouse so I'm not bored.

The arbour is in place with a temporary net to stop the birds feasting on my fruits, after the fruits are finished I will get some new nets and cover each side and the top with a permanent wall of net, it won't notice too much. I will then make a weighted front, which will be removable when not required. It's a posh fruit cage. 

I did move the sink with my grasses to the front and the other blueberry tub to the back, I feel it looks neater. I can extend the net to cover this bush next year. My blackberry is now in a trellis, I will let the plant grow through, but it will keep the main stems together. I have seen a hedgehog sleeping in the broken pot, so that can stay here, it's much neater.

Hubby liked a railing here at the front of the decking, it makes this corner look tidy, we did not like them across the whole front of the decking, we often walk on the lawn and did not want to block our path, or the view from our sitting room. 

Another looks nice here behind the small bed by our back door, it's a good way to add height to this garden, giving interest to a plain wall, I will hang my slate butterfly here as well. 

Thank you for your comments on my last post, it seems as if we all love a good bargain. My sister said I was lucky, but it was a case of checking the selling site until I found what I wanted, I have spent too much time on my phone in the past few weeks, I'm pleased to now be free from it. 

Hubby did not like the 2 railings in his front garden, so we used them around the decking, both of us agreed they looked better here. I popped the 4 poles in my side garden, they add height and interest. The other 2 railings will go in my raised bed, with cheap plain posts, not that you can notice any difference they just disappear. We have rats again at the bottom of the garden, so hubby needs access to the boundary fence behind the raised bed. 

I was asked to participate in a government test, so yesterday I sent back my covis test and did a large questionnaire on line, it's now a case of wait and see if there is any more to do. I have indicated I will be willing to do more. 

Monday was a lovely day, sunshine and warm, I spent most of the time outside, it was good to tidy along the garage at the back of the garden. I dug out the sink to move it, it's heavy even when empty, I was surprised how much soil went back into the sink. Lots of dead heading, which is keeping the blooms coming, this is the best the garden has looked in 11 years in this house. 

I had 2 sleep overs with daughter, Will and George, over the past few days, daddy was away with work, so it was perfect for me to do the bedtime and morning routines. Her bump looks beautiful, she is blooming, just wants baby to arrive. We are having boys extra this week, George all day Wednesday so mummy and Will can go out for lunch and the park together and Will on Friday, he asked to have a play day with us, these could change if their sibling decides to enter our world. 

Today some of us are meeting for sign classes, I'm not sure there is much more we can learn, it's more about using sign language rather than studying images. Hubby is having Will and George whilst mummy goes to see her midwife. Nothing else planned, it's a case of waiting..... 

Cheap at half the price.

This is my bargain, I have been looking for an arch for ages, I saw one on line at a price I liked, but was worried it might be a bit flimsy, so I kept looking a local Facebook selling pages, we all love a bargain. 

I saw this on Sunday morning, I was not 1st to respond, and thought I would miss out on it, but the lady selling sent me her address to go and look. 

I paid my money and was told, these are with it, now I don't need railings, but hubby said bring them home. 

 I had £90 set aside for an arch, I had saved in basket in online site in hope the company might send me an extra discount code, and I was holding back as I felt it was the quality was not great. 

The lady said I was the politest person to respond to her post, and therfore chose me to have 1st look, it's sturdy, a bit bigger than I required, but will work well. Fitting in my i20 was fun, driving home was different, luckily it was just 10 minutes from here.

Hubby decided to put it back together just as we had a few spots of rain, 'it's sunny today, not going to rain' he says, just as the heavens opened and it poured for an hour.

We will place it as soon as we can, I have to net the sides, and then place the fruit pots inside, I will need a net front, but I have a cunning plan. It will look good in the garden, we already have black metal structures.

The railings will be used, 2 will go in the back of the raised bed, I won't use the nice post, I have some plain ones I can use. So I will have 3 post to use around the garden as plant supports. Hubby wants the other 2 railings and the 3 post to use in his front garden.

The arbour and fences were purchased last year, so less than a year old, they don't look brand new, but are not damaged at all. The arbour new price is £120, so I have a great bargain. I am often happy to wait, rather than rushing in, buying 2nd hand works well in our mature garden, I am sat here with a smile, this truly was the last big task in the garden, (I know you don't believe me, I've said it before).
