This stitching is still keeping me busy, I am enjoying every moment, the lower pattern has been done across to the middle, like the first side it crashes into the centre stars. I have not touched my knitted blanket in ages, it's too warm to knit blankets, maybe I should start my socks.

School holidays
The schools are off for a couple of weeks, so visits from little people are most welcome, the garden once again is full of squeals, laughter and football. Note Molly's outfit, she was a shimmer in pink all day, her frilly dress suited her happy mood.
Molly checked her peanuts, three had white roots, they had been on wet kitchen towel on my sunny window-sill, so we decided to pot them up, she did most of the work, she is very good at following instructions, the pot is in my greenhouse for now.
Both George and Molly checked the wildlife pond, I am loving they are interested in nature and what lives in the water, which is still very clear, so we can see things including 3 huge water snails and newts swimming. Will came and checked it as well, sadly we could not see if the frog was still in residence.

Lazy days
We had an us day on Thursday, firstly in our local town we did some pottery painting, both deciding to decorate a mug, hubby had no idea what to do and looked in their corner of aids to decorate. I do like his, he is very pleased.

Read, new, done
This is a brilliant book, english couple living in USA, difficult to say much about the plot, it could have made a great slap stick film in places, I really could not put this book down, I do like this author. Book 80 read this year.
I ordered a silk cyclamen, it was a toss up between red or white, I settled for white as it will blend in with my other Christmas silk plants, and still look good against our green walls. It won't arrive until after the holidays, my real plants are full of tiny flies which is driving us mad.
I got my pottery back, I'm so pleased with this plant pot, I tried to blend the leaves and add a colour wash blend on the main body. It will live on my kitchen window sill.
I have been to town 3 times this week, Monday for our normal wander, Wednesday to get the camera lens cover replaced on my phone, today to get our pottery, each time I took the bus, we are extremely lucky to have a great service, which runs from Portsmouth to Southampton, and calling in at our small village and on to town, the buses are new electric models as both cities have emission charges.
Thursday was dire, heavy rain for most of the day, it did not stop, so I cleaned the house, making sure both bathrooms are shining, hubby was bored enough to help. We both were tired by early evening, happy to have it all done. We did pop to Lidl for a few bits, just the fresh veg to get next week.
Thank you for your understanding of my comments regarding my brother, he has changed he does not go many places and stays home alone. He does not see the need to interact with other people, he is lonely, but won't admit it, I worry for him, its the same path as our older brother, who is now in secure home unable to care for himself. I try speak to him a few times each week on a video call, we text most days, getting older is no fun. I don't want to inflict our lifestyle on him, that's not my role, but I do wish more for him.
I am feeling a bit better, these past few grey dull days have not helped, today is blue skies, sunny and mild. Daughter and the little ones are busy in their last few days at school, her cousin from Somerset on her dad's side is visiting her, so we won't see much of them, I am sleeping over on Monday, no reason, just time together.

What's new
Another new author to me, I really enjoyed this plot, it started with someone running away from a dead body, it then restarted from the beginning, a family moving to a newer posher area, lives adjusting to their new status, then the murder happens. Good plot with a great twist at the end. Book 3 read this year.
We have not done much, just too cold, Friday and Saturday were days at home, with just a walk to the village, Saturday afternoon we sat an watched a beautiful heron perched on our neighbours summerhouse roof, it sat there for ages in the sunshine, I don't know of any ponds in local gardens, we didn't think it was hunting.
We got our new phones this week, you link them together and they automatically transfer all my data, except (there is always but) when we came to the verification code, it was set up to send the code to our land line number (which we don't have anymore) and no way for us to change it, we could only contact the help desk once we were past this point. Daughter came to the rescue again, not everything came over so once I finished the process, I paired my new phone with my tablet and sorted everything. We had a huge Sunday roast as a thank you, the children loved it as did we, sitting around our table, both Molly and George had seconds, it felt good to know daughter had a day without cooking, Lilly had loads of playtime, all three children love playing with her.
Monday morning we popped to town, we sold our old phones which we did a factory reset, got a nice sum for them, we always go to CEX, they have always given us the best prices. I've change providers on my phone which is another saving, we had a coffee out, I also got two nice summer tops in the sales. Our car was in the local garage having the windscreen cleaner sorted, the pump was OK, the pipes had caused the issue.
Tuesday we had an exciting morning, a very young looking police officer knocked our door and asked to view our CCTV, an expensive new car was stolen last Sunday night just around the corner and he wanted to check to see if the vehicle they arrived in went past our house for registration plates, it was a long shot as there are more direct ways to get to the car, nothing found, but a bit of excitement on a boring morning. Daughter took George back to our local walk in centre, his school called and said he was struggling, the doctors have said nothing is broken or fractured, George played happily whilst waiting to see doctors and at home after, daughter is going to speak to school, we think school is either being too careful or George has another reason to cry.
