Shopping

For a baby girl ripple blanket,
I have 2 balls of each colour, the joy of working with pink,
it's for my hairdresser, no grand daughters for me.
1 ball of darker blue and 2 of blue/grey,
with my left overs for a scarf,
I am going to weigh these and see what I can make.
1 pale blue and 1 purple, with the left overs from my jumper last year, enough for a scarf. All of the yarn was from Wool Warehouse their Drops range is on sale. I do love the Alpaca range, it is so very soft. I will wait until I have finished the baby blanket, I might have some pink to include.
I fell in love with this woven succulent

I am really interested in Bonsai, but most of them are way to expensive for me to try out, so I was really happy to see this tiny Acer at a price I could afford, the shades in the leaves are beautiful, it is now on my desk, I have been on the net, finding out everything I can, my hope is for this to stay small and improve over the months. The worse thing that could happen is it grows, then I would have an expensive small tree in the garden, it cost me £19.99, which is cheap for a bonsai. It is an outdoor plant, but I aim to keep it on my desk, the sunlight is good all morning, I might have to move it in the winter, when the heating is on.
All the above has been added to my stash spend, I have a few garden things I require, but I'm still not ready to plant everything outside.
We had a lazy afternoon at home yesterday, eating lunch outside in the sunshine, it was good to do nothing after the busy weekend. I have done loads of knitting on my Christmas socks, now I am planning the design for the crochet baby blanket.
This morning is sign class, followed by an hour bridge class, I am making a 4, learning with Shelia how to play.
Tomorrow is market day, I have 2 plants I require for my pots, so it will be a garden day.

Walled gardens Cannington

Logan and Finn, in pub play area.

We are back home after a long weekend away, back to my home village in Somerset, we stayed with my brother Martin, caught up with our grandsons in Taunton, had Sunday lunch with my brothers and sisters. We ate out most lunchtimes, so it was a restful time and plenty of chatter.
On Sunday afternoon, we visited The Walled gardens attached to Cannington college, this college was here from 60's onward, we always had loads of students in our village, all through the year. About 10 years ago they opened the gardens, but I had never visited, we spent almost 2 hours walking around, the gardens are in between seasons, and did not look their best, but it was still interesting. They have huge glasshouses, which I loved, loads of Cati's in one, aquaponics in another, a hot house and a house for propagation.
They had loads of plants for sale, but I passed on them all, I just don't have space in the garden. I have made a couple of purchases, will show them next time.

Socks update

Hubby's socks size 11, plenty of rest time spent knitting.
Against my size 6, I always make to leg section of my socks shorter, I find the lower length comfortable.
My peonie is doing well, I have 9 buds on this plant
The colour of these blooms are brilliant.
We got this book a couple of weeks ago, and we are loving the recipes inside, we always eat healthy, with low fat, sugar and salt, so trying to loose a few pounds is hard, I can't give up crisp, cake, fizzy pop and sweets, because we don't eat them.
Soon we will be driving to Somerset to spend time with my family, my sister wants to pop to a garden center, we have Saturday planned with Logan and Finn our Taunton grandsons, not sure what we are doing as yet. Sunday will be a lazy day, probably spent in my sister and brothers gardens.

Nothing happening

I purchased these heavy glass spheres as Christmas decorations, and once they were home, I did not like them, which shows the perils of buying online, so for a couple of years they have been in my attic. Yesterday I had a brain wave, and now they are in the garden, where they catch the sunshine and I love them.
I have finished my 1st sock, now I will do more on hubby's.
To keep the stripes looking good, once I had finished the heel, I wound on the shades until I found the correct place to use for picking up the stitches and knitting the foot. This yarn goes a long way, the ball is still huge.
I have another yarn order coming, Wool Warehouse have 35% off Drops yarn, it's on until the end of the month, I purchased the yarn for a pink ripple baby blanket, plus a couple extra of Drops Nord and Drops Alpaca, these with left overs from previous knitting will make a couple items. I'm not on commission, I just love sharing a bargain.
It rained through Tuesday night and most of the morning on Wednesday, lots of lovely rain, not enough to fill water butts, but I have a good supply of water, the garden is now OK until into next week. The last real rain we had was 1st week in April.
Tuesday I had a lazy day at home, did almost nothing, I let the bugs have their way, so plenty of knitting and started my book, which is different again to my normal read, but I do like the style of the author. Another evening with nothing on the TV, so we both sat and read, and then an early night.
Wednesday was another day at home, it was market day in the village, we did walk down, I passed on plants, but hubby got a couple of Hebe's for pots in front garden, back home more knitting and reading. Having had a couple of restful days, I am now feeling much better.
Still not doing anything in the garden, I hope to be able to plant out next week, the long range fore caste is for it to get warmer after the weekend.
This morning was housework, I have done most of it, I do love a clean house, we are driving down to Somerset tomorrow for a long weekend, looking forward to catching up with everyone. I have my 2nd peony in a pot for my brothers garden, he has ripped out all the old and recreating a nicer space for himself.
