Our boys

Sam
Josh and Sam
Yummy chocolate cake
Not in my garden!
These were taken over the weekend, I did pick up the boys from school today, loads of fun and laughter in our tiny garden, Sam chased us all around with my greenhouse sprayer, getting us all wet.
It is so pleasing to have the doors open and play outside in the sunshine.
But the fore caste is for the weather to get colder and wet.
Last night we had photography club and had a lesson on macro, which I am very interested in, I did not learn too much, most of it I had already worked out, but he did have a really nice flash light which sat around the lens. I am going to price one up because often my macro work is dark.
Work is going well, still on my huge learning curve, but it's interesting.
The garden is looking good, I have watered every where tonight, and hoping for some rain to save me doing again at the weekend. My tomato and cucumber seeds are now starting to grow, all very late. My cucamelon is also doing well, I only have one plant this season. I have not finished the primer on the table and chairs, I still have to purchase a second can.
I have not stitched, I have been tired and I will admit feeling a bit blue, not something that happens often, but hubby is trying hard to ensure I feel better. Su youngest daughter is popped over this evening, I am looking forward to seeing her.

Weekend jobs done

We did get into town yesterday, popped to Debenham's
The dress is new the jacket a favourite
It does look much better on.
I also got a couple pair of canvas shoes,
perfect with my jeans
mine are scruffy and only fit for wearing in the garden
Hubbies work from Saturday, he had to fix a leak in the join on the down pipe, now all the rain from the garage roof will collect here. The peony will double in size and cover alot of the butt, plus I have huge daises in the corner which will grow.
One of my task later was to spray primer on my table and chairs,
the breeze dropped enough for me to spray them,
over next weekend they will be painted dark green.
Not sure if you can see but the rose is in the back right hand corner, I have a verbena and an aquilegia along the back, there are gladiola's also coming through. The brown long tub behind the fence has my sweet peas, so this area should be full of colour.  Later I will dig the front and pop in some flowers,
I have loads in my greenhouse.
Purdy watched us work all afternoon.
We were back from town is less than two hours, which pleased both of us, the dress was expensive, but I have my niece's wedding in the summer and another niece's who is getting married in the sun is having a wedding party, so I will get wear out of the dress. I really do not mind any more if the dress is seen in more than one set of photo's. Neither hubby or I wanted to spend any extra time in the town, how much time and money in past years have we wasted doing the weekend town visit.
Last night I did nothing, after another afternoon in the garden, I ached, I'm not liking this getting old stuff, I keep have strong words to my body, but it does not listen.
After work I collected Josh and Sam from school, Josh played football and Sam was on gardening duties, he watered every tub, with a tiny amount of water, then he swept the back section of the garden, tried out the round cushions on my chairs, which he declared were for the gardeners, him and nanna.
It was lovely to have the patio doors open, the boys spent almost all the time outside, we are lucky our house suits inside/outside living, shame the flies have already started. No stitching tonight, I'm really tired again, so an early night is calling.

Night and day

Almost there
more stitching last night
Loving Santa and the reindeer
but the reindeer have reins and the snowman above has arms
these should be done in white I'm not sure
Also there are stars to be added, again in white,
I have some beautiful gold thread, and stars are gold
What do you think?
Flowers on the blueberry bush
These cyclamen should not be flowering
Love this sign, it's over my raised veg plot
We spent a very warm afternoon in the garden, not getting back inside until just after 7pm, hubby has sorted out a slim water butt for me, sits just in front of our garage, so the blueberries can be watered with rain water. I potted on some flower seedlings, weeded all round the plot. We have a change of plan and the beautiful red rose can not sit by the gate, there is not enough room for a huge pot, so I have put my tower pots there instead. Now I have to find a home for the rose, that's a job for later today.
We going into town to look for a dress for the garden party, but in truth I'm not sure if I want to go, will have to see how I feel later, I have a bit of housework to be done.
Later I would like to go out with our camera's and take some photo's around Fareham, we have a lovely creek, when the tide is in it looks beautiful, with the local golf club along the bank, nearby a cricket pitch, and loads of lovely walks.

Friday

I never cut flowers from my garden
but these were growing in a dull unseen corner
Using my trug which I was given for my birthday present last year
instead of using it like this
Thank goodness it is Friday, I am so tired today, two lazy long days at home, no housework planned just resting and relaxing, hubby is snoozing in the chair, I am going to wander around my garden, water the few pots in the shade, smile and say hello to all the wonderful things growing.
Have a good weekend.
