At an angle

 Just a few stitches
yesterday was a very busy day
I have a day at home and hope to be able to get on with this
I need to finish it
Last night at photography club, we learnt about composing photo's and looking at angles, this is something I like to do, often I look up at things, so we were in the town centre and took shot's this is just three I liked.
Looking down
 Eye level
 Looking up
by changing the angle of your shot you can make an interesting shot.
I picked Josh and Sam up from school, we had loads of Lego to play with, and a game of football in the garden. Josh was lovely, he has played up on his last couple of visits. He did fall over in the garden and badly graze his elbow, but he was brave, allowed me to clean it, and then went back to playing.
Today our top soil should be delivered, it would be nice for it to arrive this morning, allowing me time to add most of it to my raised garden, then it can settle and next week I can sow some seed's, I have a couple of glass panels I can put on top of the raised bed and can use to start them off.
The avocado and lemon and lime plants are doing well in the greenhouse.
I am also sorting, we are away on Thursday for a long weekend in Wales, on Saturday I am going to meet Dawn and Pam, I am excited to be able to meet both ladies, I love their blogs, and it is really nice of Pam to pop over.
We are also having Saturday evening with Kev's sister and hubby, they have booked a nice meal out.
With our camera's in tow, Fridays eclipse, the Welsh rugged landscape, it's going to be alot of fun.

Mix up

I have two colours to use on Love
but this is starting to call to me
Carrie Rose I have the second part here waiting
In my last purchase of craft items, I got this die, letters in cross stitch, handy for me to use with my love of cross stitch, and it fit's on my tag template well.
I had problems with my Xcut machine at the weekend, I could not find their site so I emailed Hobbycraft, where we purchased it from. They exchanged it out straight away, asking me to take it to a local store who had replacement stock. I moan regarding the high priced items , but their customer service was great.
PS, we go ours in the pre Christmas sale.
My friend had a welcome week in Egypt last week and she kindly purchased this for me, hand blown, stunning, I have hung it on my heart tree until I get my Christmas tree out later in the year.
I stayed in most of yesterday, it felt cool and was dull all day, we did have a small amount of rain, these cheer me up, I also lit one of my scented candles,
I love Lime Basil and Mandarin.
I was very tired yesterday after another bad night sleep, so in the afternoon I watched a few recorded programmes, I am enjoying Poldark, Aiden Turner is very pleasing on the eye. I did not stitch at all.
I did have a huge surprise late morning, a woman knocked on our door, it was an old neighbour of our's, she had been knocking on doors around the area as she had lost our address, so loads of warming drinks and gossip, and an invitation to a birthday party. Diane had said she was worried because she had not seen us in town for ages, I explained my frugal outlook with less shopping.
Our extra class last night was so very interesting, Richard was showing us how to use Photoshop to enhance our photo's. He changed the light and colours, cropped and then showed us how we could have fun with photo's. All very clever stuff, it's now a case of playing and having fun.
We have our normal class tonight, he did not give us any clues to what we would be doing.
I will pick the boys up from school tonight, Sam won his Preschool raffle and chose a large Lego kit, so I am sure it will be a Lego day, so very busy later, I am enjoying a very slow morning.

Love stitching love

The word Nana on these cards make them the best.
 These are great too
Eldest daughter gave me the storage box and pretty book,
youngest gave me Jo Malone invite and a promise of a meal out together,
which normally goes with a shopping day.
On the front of the box
We had a lovely lunch and afternoon, it was dull so we stayed around the house, David introduced Josh and Sam to F1 racing (on TV), and Josh a few games to play on my iPad. Sammy followed Hubby around most of the day.
Everybody went home by 5pm so we watched a film (my choice), then hubby watched the voice and I stitched. We had leftovers from lunch for supper.
I do miss having my mum around, she would have loved family days, but she will be fore-ever in my heart, her words help me through tough times.

Stitching
Green and blue are both finished.
Two colours to add.
Today it is dull again, we could see rain, but it was fore caste yesterday and it stayed dry, if we do not have rain today I will have to water some of my pots. We have not had any decent rain for a couple of weeks. I have a guy coming to replace the locks on our bedroom windows this afternoon, none of them are sturdy and they wobble, time to get rid of them. Not sure if my friend Cat will visit, if she does I will have sewing time.
Later we are at an extra night at photography club, being shown the finer details of Photoshop Elements, which will be good for me, I have only opened it once on my computer and closed it again quickly, way to involved for me.

Mothering Sunday

Hubby always get me a gift on Mothering Sunday
I have been after a couple of old chimney pots, but they are normally expensive, we saw some in the week at £60 each. Hubby saw these yesterday at £20 each, but took me back to make sure they were what I wanted, asked for a price for two, £30. So now I own them.
The first one will stay in place under the tree, I hope to plant forget me nots inside and have beautiful blue flowers. The second pot is placed at the back of the herb garden, this is not it's final place, I want to put it in the side garden, but I have to wait until the plants have grown, to sort a free space.
The avocado is now in the green house along with my lemon and lime plants, they have all settled in and now do not look as wilted. I am not sure I can keep the avocado, but it has gotten too big for the house.
My olive tree in it's new pot, I think they look great together.
I have two smaller stone pots which I purchased in the 70's,
they will be put with this display.
Stitching
I have done all the unpicking and re stitched
hubby watched a film last night, not to my liking,
so I was able to get loads of stitching done.
Green is almost finished, I am liking the blue,
Just two more colours to add.
Hubby is cooking lunch today, soon our girls will be here, and a family afternoon can begin. It's dull today, so not sure what our afternoon plans will be.
I really enjoyed my time in the garden, so much is coming together, just wanting to be able to sow in the veg plot, and see everything growing.
I hope you all have a happy Mothering Sunday, with loved ones and loads of laughter.
