More knitting

I loved this book, I did not think it was her best, but still a good story line. I am now looking at the books I was given for another good read.
I have managed to knit some more on this second sock,
it should be completed by the weekend.
Leftie shawl, I am itching to knit this, it uses leftover yarn from socks, the design is here on Raverlry, I have seen loads of different colours on Pintrest, it knits up very easy and beautiful.
Once the sock is finished, I want to finish my jumper, it's in 4ply and will be perfect to take to Spain, we are away early April, just the sleeves to do, should not be a problem. I will not start the shawl until the jumper is finished, I will not.......
BUT my garden is calling, I don't have much to do, but the desire to be outside with dirty hands is huge. I just love the early growing season, so much joy to come, when plants return for another summer, just like old friends popping back to see you.
My Peony has wonderful buds peaking through the soil, this is my oldest plant in the garden, I remember it as a child in my mothers front garden, when she moved, we dug it up and divided into 4, I got one section. It is at least 60 years old.
Today we are going to move my shed, just a couple of feet back, but it will make a difference in my tiny garden. We left a space behind the shed, so it would not look to bare from my neighbours garden, but the new lady has put up a 6' fence and won't be able to see it.

  1. I really enjoyed this Jojo Moyes book, I thought it was better than most of her others. There's so many things waiting in the wings that I want to knit, it's just time, and as you say, other things start to call at this time of year too.

  2. I like the colour palette on the shawl.

I love peonies but am not sure if I have room to grow one. Do they need a lot of care?

    1. I find they are the simplist of things to grow, you don't plant them too deep, mine is happy is clay soil. They die back yeach year, so the garden is tidy over winter. I would love a tree Peony, but sadly I don't have room.

  3. I have never been able to get into any of her books, a shame because I was given the entire collection last year. I did try but ended up passing them on to a good home. I have a 4 ply pattern all ready to start but it is way down the list. I want to get all my gift knitting done as soon as possible then I can concentrate on what I fancy.

  4. I was given a pile of books yesterday too....not had time to look at them yet. How lovely to have a peony for so long - and you were lucky, I didn't think peonies liked being dug up and moved. We had the Bowl of Beauty one in our garden in the Midlands, I left it behind when we moved down here as I didn't think it would survive....perhaps I should have brought it!

  5. Hope you got your jobs done in the spring sunshine in the garden today. It was such a lovely day, we were at the community garden. The leftie looks interesting.

  7. I think I've read all of JoJo Moyes books but Me Before You is still my favourite by far, so much so that I won't even watch the film because I just know it wouldn't be the same and I don't want it spoiled. Hope you get your cardigan finished to take away with you, sleeves can be a bit monotonous.

    1. My fav book so far from Jojo Moyes is The last letter from your lover, it did help when reading the letters Liam Neeson voice was in my head.
