Show time

I do love silk flowers, these poinsettias stems were purchased last year when I used them in a bigger pot to look like a plant, this year I have them out earlier, I got some silk honesty to break the solid red, I think they look better. This display gives colour to a dull corner, they will be moved in December as my tree is placed here.

This is my glass cabinet, I made this display at the beginning of October, mainly pumpkins, I have decided it can stay longer, the tall vase has lights in, as does the glass mushroom and my hand painted mushroom, again light in a dull corner.
I love this photo, daughter went to our favourite garden centre (without me) and snapped this photo, taken on 31st, so Molly had her costume on, she does love to dress up. George has a love for Crocs and wears them everywhere, again lovely colour.
Sunday we went to our local venue to watch a show, I have always loves ELO from the very beginning back in 70's, both hubby and I loved everything about this show, they played and sung to match what we expected, there was enough humour in between songs, the laser light show was brilliant. We both agreed it's one of the best tribute bands we have seen.

We are away, Lilly was not happy to go back to the cattery, she does not like to be inside, I think we need to rethink her care when we are next away, our previous cats always stayed at home, but they kept each other company, it's something we need to decide what's best for her.

George had a very early birthday party, his best friend Dixie's birthday is close to his, sadly the venue they wanted was booked both weekend near their birthdays, they are in the same class so they knew everyone, plus all the siblings, it was a loud afternoon, we did not go. Dixie and her family are moving much closer to daughter, they will be able to walk to each others house, daughter does not normally allow George to houses on his own, but he has been to Dixies a few times. Children went back to school OK, daughter has a chance now to sort all their toys and pack up loads they don't play with anymore, she had a lazy Tuesday, the little ones had an inset day on Monday.

  1. We look after the cat next door, sometimes for a week. He was accidentally catnapped once! Someone thought he was their lost cat and took him home. Their vet was able to read the microchip; phoned the owner ion holiday in Portugal who phoned us, and we got him back safely!

  2. Seeing children growing up and becoming a little more independent is a double-edged sword of pride and anxiety. They survive and so do the parents.

  3. Before we moved Miss Sheva always went back to the cattery where she had been fostered and they knew her, but on moving to Derbyshire had to re-think. Our daughter has 2 cats and has a cat sitter Emma, who came twice a day. So we have used her, she stays for 30 mins each time, opens/closes our blinds, puts bin in/out. Sheva always stays in when we are away on holiday and Emma charges the same as a cattery would. Xx

  4. Such a lovely photo of the little ones. We’ve just been installing a new feeder for our Italian cats, it takes 2 kg of biscuits and dispenses as much and often as you decide.

  5. When we went away we took our cat down to mum's when she lived down the road from here. Tiger (our cat) thought he was going on his holidays as dad had a large garden that lead down to a wood. He would sleep on top of the tall freezer in their porch and watch everyone come and go through the window and sleep at night on top of their boiler where it was warm. They were not vegetarian like us so he got some tasty bits of meat too. Lovely pictures.

  8. What a great photo of the grands. I see that George love his Crocs. When we had our cat if we were only gone for the weekend we left her by herself. Gone any longer and I had a friend come over to look after her. D would stay and play with her for about 1/2 an hour or so.

    God bless.

  9. That's a great photograph of Molly and George.
Yes, I had to rethink my cat's care, as Mog was never keen, and there was no way Boo would have been happy at the cattery. I now have a fantastic 'cat lady' who comes in once a day, whenever I'm away, to top up the food bowls and give them fresh water. However, she doesn't really need to do much, as they are both very independent cats. They have a cat flap, so can go in and out as they please.
I hope you manage to find some sort of solution. Xx
