So with all those and new authors coming along hopefully we'll never run out of reading.<br />I have all the Sue Grafton, collected from charity shops but have only read up to L so far. wonder if someone will be allowed to finish Z for her.She probably had notes about it if it was started.Sue in Suffolkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13166036914348424622noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1117235929033462254.post-54459181448238874222019-07-16T13:10:06.027+01:002019-07-16T13:10:06.027+01:00I did Eng Lit at school and it was my fave subject...I did Eng Lit at school and it was my fave subject after science. I found 1984 a bit hard going, but I loved To Kill a Mockingbird. This was how I got hooked on the classics. I love all of Dickens, Jane Austen, the Brontes, I have most on my Kindle and I'll re-read them over and over. I love to read some of the lesser known authors like M.E. Braddon. Quite a few new ones with good debut books too. It's hard being part of my book group to pick a favourite, all the other people come along each week with a recommendation. At the moment I am reading Anita Shreve, Fortune's Rocks - that was recommended by Justine (blogger) on the Needlecraft Haven forum for the June read, but as its older it took a while for my library to get a copy. Book group summer read will be (we all read the same 4 times a year, seasonally, and read our own books at other times) is Rachel Hore, Last Letter home. Like you, I rarely read a book twice so I don't bother keeping most of them. The book I've read the most is To Kill a Mockingbird, I've read that more than once or twice, reading it first at school, I reread it when Daniel was studying it for his English Literature GCSE and I've read it again since.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1117235929033462254.post-91959186065600586132019-07-16T09:23:56.635+01:002019-07-16T09:23:56.635+01:00I gave my Harry Potter set to my eldest grandson, ...I gave my Harry Potter set to my eldest grandson, he loved them and passed them to his younger brother to read. Years ago I would read everything Harold Robins had out, later I had a Daniel Steel addiction. Now I will read lots of different genres. I too only keep certain books now, my Bill Bryson ones, anything history related, my Harry Potter books and then any book that I've really enjoyed. I'm re-reading My Dear I Wanted To Tell You by Louisa Young, I read it in 2018 but I don't think I was in the right frame of mind to read it at that time, i'm enjoying it much more this time round.Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10260573198415697938noreply@blogger.com
